During the past 45 years, the Institute for the Advancement of Service has served thousands of people by offering in-person and faculty-led courses, workshops, trainings, programs, lectures, and special events through our 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
Closing Our Nonprofit Organization
The time has come for the Institute to change its form. We are closing our nonprofit organization and, after February 2025, will be transitioning to exist solely in the form of our self-directed, teaching website.
Although we will no longer be offering onsite courses, programs, or events, and will not be maintaining a physical space or receiving donations, the Institute will continue to shine our Light into the world and provide a supportive presence through this unique website for the next three years.
A NEW PLAN to Complete the Bookgiving Project
To help us manifest this sacred culmination of our work, we ask that you consider a NEW PLAN to help us complete the Bookgiving Project before our February 2025 closure date.
We still have more than 3,000 books to give away! You can help us in our final effort to distribute these books by committing to take one (or more) full box of books to gift to individuals and organizations within your sphere of influence.
We especially have many boxes of Born to Serve (12 books per box) and To Show Another Way (14 books per box). By requesting one or both boxes to distribute, you can help us reach our goal to share these unique and vital books with others who would be served by the Institute's teachings and practices.
Simple Ways to Distribute Your Box(es) of Books
A few easy ways to distribute a box of books over time could be to place one of each book in a Little Free Library near you and commit to regularly replacing it when it is gone, or placing one of each book in your local library sale, replacing it once it has been sold.
There are MANY ways to distribute books (find some more ideas HERE) and we urgently need your help to move these books out into the world before we close our physical doors in February. EACH OF YOU can truly help us succeed in the completion of the Institute's destiny and serve so many others by sharing our books in your own neighborhoods and communities.
As you know, these books address humanity’s psychological and spiritual needs during this profound time of the evolution of our planet. Their purpose is to help understand the reason behind the current chaos of our changing world and to offer ways to heal, uplift, and serve both ourselves and others.
We are continuing to gift these books, so there will be no cost to you or those to whom you offer our books.

Our Self-Study Website
In our new form as a free, teaching website, Institute courses, which were previously faculty-led and offered in person or with online faculty support, will be available in a fully self-directed format, and Susan's books will be downloadable as free PDF ebooks.
Multiple interlinking teachings and practices will be plentiful on the website, including the Universal Tributes and Tributes Courses, our Communication Guidelines, Soul Alignment practices, all past postings from Susan's Blog, and many additional, well-loved and well-tested Institute spiritual exercises and practices.
Culmination, Closure, Celebration, and Continuance
We see this closure and extension of our Light by way of our teaching website as a moment of great culmination and celebration in the 45-year life and destiny of the Institute.
We know from what you have told us over the years that our teachings have a profound impact in showing another way to live and serve at this time of great turmoil and incoming Light on Planet Earth. Helping us to get our books out into the world is a unique opportunity for you to take action and truly make a difference in your own community.
Please join us in this celebration by committing to help us distribute our last remaining physical books as we bring our final initiative ~ The Bookgiving Project ~ to completion.
